The 2nd FIDE Grand Prix organised by AGON takes place in Tashkent 22nd November to 5th December 2012. There were just two decisive games with wins for Sergey Karjakin and Alexander Morozevich.

Karjakin beat Leinier Dominguez Perez on the black side of a Ruy Lopez Breyer variation played recently in Sibenek in the game Navara-Avrukh which Karjakin seemed to understand much better. Alexander Morozevich has lost five of his last six tournament games (a blitz tournament win and an underwhelming European Club Cup performance more recently) and one wonders what might have happened if he had lost today. As it was he won a full-blooded game against Gata Kamsky where the American had some advantage in a complex position before 34...Rg6? (34...Rg5!) just lost immediately.

Boris Gelfand seemed to have a quite big advantage in a minor piece ending against Leko but the game ended in a draw. The remaining games were also drawn.

Caruana-Svidler was an interesting Gruenfeld where black didn't seem to have too many problems.

Mamedyarov-Kasimdzhanov was a kind of Dutch Stonewall structure where white maybe had something to start with but black held relatively comfortably.

Ponomariov-Wang Hao was a 32 move draw in a Sicilian.
