Former World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov made his first trip to Saint Louis, the home of the US Chess Championship, to play an exhibition match against Yasser Seirawan. 2 classical time control games on Sunday and Monday (both games drawn), 2 rapid games on Tuesday (both draw) were followed by 10 blitz games on Wednesday. Karpov won the match as he won the blitz 6-4 with Seirawan losing three games in a row after the half time break mostly getting into time trouble he avoided elsewhere in the match. Karpov and Seirawan were interviewed afterwards. Karpov renewed his criticism of FIDE (wrongly led now) which you can see in their Video archive. All games and results below.
