The fourth round of the Petrosian Memorial saw all four games drawn. However there were winning opportunities in a number of the games. Alexander Grischuk started with 3/3 and that was 6 classical wins in a row counting the end of the Baku Grand Prix. Today he drew a sharp struggle against Liren Ding in a g3 King's Indian.

Ernesto Inarkiev missed a one move opportunity to beat Alexander Morozevich when they both blundered the tactic 41.Qxd4? 41...Rc1+ which wins the queen or delivers mate.

Peter Leko also missed a cast iron chance to beat Levon Aronian 23.Re7+ was all over but he was also had a huge advantage at various other points before letting his opponent escape.

Vladimir Kramnik didn't get much against Boris Gelfand's Gruenfeld Defence with 5.Bg5 and after 21.Rc2?! 21..e5 allowed Gelfand to at least equalise.

Round 4 Standings: 1 Grischuk, 3.5pts 2 Kramnik, 2.5pts 3-5 Ding Liren, Leko, Aronian 2pts 6-7 Gelfand, Morozevich 1.5pts 8 Inarkiev 1pt
