1) Introduction

My thanks to Roland Wimmer, Olexandr Prohorov, Luiz Roberto Da Costa Jr, Susan Polgar, Miklos Orso, Kristianus Liem and everyone else who helped with this issue.

Top class chess continues on this week. The European Club Cup has some of the world's best players competing and started a couple of days ago. Fabiano Caruana is one of these players traveling from Budapest where he won the Kings tournament. Michael Adams moved from Bilbao where he finished second to play in the 17th Unive Chess Tournament.

The European Club Cup takes place in Rhodes, Greece, 20th to 26th October 2013. The 7th Kings Tournament in Bucharest took place 7th to 16th October 2013. 10 rounds no rest days but only 5 players so one player missed each round. Players: Fabiano Caruana (2779), Ruslan Ponomariov (2751), Wang Hao (2733), Teimour Radjabov (2723) and Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu. Fabiano Caruana took clear first place with 5/8.

4) Bilbao Masters Final 2013

The Bilbao Final Masters took place 7th to 12th October 2013 Favourite Levon Aronian's wins in Round 4 against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Round 5 against Michael Adams, both with black proved enough to give him victory with 4/6 undefeated. Michael Adams too won twice but his defeat to Aronian left him in second place on 3.5/6. Shakhriyar Mamedyarov finished on 2.5/6 and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave finished last on 2/6 and was involved in all but one of the five decisive games. Somehow I forgot to add the final rounds games.
