The Aimchess US Rapid was the last qualifying event of the 2021 Meltwater Chess Tour before the final starting September 25th. A 9 event 2022 series has already been announced starting in February. This rapid took place 28th August to 5th September 2021. Players: Magnus Carlsen, Levon Aronian, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Anish Giri, Wesley So, Alireza Firouzja, Leinier Dominguez Perez, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Santosh Gujrathi Vidit, Quang Liem Le, Vladislav Artemiev, Jorden Van Foreest, Daniel Naroditsky, Eric Hansen and Awonder Liang.

Magnus Carlsen won both days of the final against Vladislav Artemiev but the latter got enough points to make it to the tour final. The top 8 in the Grand Prix are: Carlsen, So, Aronian, Radjabov, Giri, Nepomniachtchi, Nakamura and Artemiev. There are two wild card places for the tour final starting on September 25th.
